I have a 14# box of flint from Flint Ridge. This was heat treated in a kiln. Mostly tumbler material but there are chunkier pieces for small cabs. You'll see quartz in many pieces as well. This tumbles extremely well and gives a nice contrast in the finished rock - opaque vs. translucent/transparent. Asking $35 which includes flat rate shipping in the US.

All yours then. I had really good results tumbling this material - very solid, little waste.

I saw hummingbirdstones tagged you...so I waited to see if you were going to snag this...because if you didn't...I was gonna very shortly! LOL Good choice on this one. If you haven't worked this material yet, you're going to love it. If you have...then you know what you're in for! LOL

I have not worked with it. Being new I have only done parking lot gravel, brazillian agate, pink quartz, tigereye and orchid calcite. Orchid calcite is the only one that even remotely worked out but I am determined. I got a box sitting at home from Toad and another with rutilated quartz, sorry right now the gentlemans name escapes me. I got most of my rough before the forum from a couple lapidary stores in New Mexico. With being new my husband chose soft stones with other stuff. Pink quartz has been in three weeks because it keeps chipping apart. 😔 Crap in crap out I guess

But I actually have some of this material...and don't "need" any more...it would have been an "impulse" buy! LOL This really will be a treat for you. It polishes amazingly well!! I find some chert Prairie Agates around this area that can rival this material at times...or at least come in as a close second.
