Work on something different. Too cold to grind so I did some trimming. Thunderegg slab and flame agate slab from Tony and a Pink Lady slab from Roy which is from the Regency Rose/ Graveyard point area. The flame had a crystally crunch area near the bottom and fell apart on the saw but I was a able to move and redraw.

The flame and pink lady look amazing. I'll be watching for your progress.

I especially love a nice plume agate cab and those are excellent captures - thanks for showing the slab prior to trimming.

I especially love a nice plume agate cab and those are excellent captures - thanks for showing the slab prior to trimming. I've made a few flame agate cabochons before but am not as familiar with this material as others I work on. The white areas on the slab looked like matrix and went from face to back. I thought my best choice was to incorporate it into the design. The white stuff was crystals and I should have known that. I am not a master grinder so I mark the shape on the bottom and stay outside the lines. The crystals were softer than the rest. I ground inside the lines and did a half ass recovery. Still has an amazing pattern.
