and some blue jasper and mex flame agate after 1 week in 60/90 - this stuff is going to take a long time. Leopard, wet Mex flame (brown/red) and blue jasper, wet Posting these because I'm the one screaming the loudest about other people posting pics - LOL Robert

robert you are at the point where my leopardskins started to deteriorate. they started undercutting from this point onward with polish being the hardest on them. it was like they were going backwards.
they are all looking great now.

That leopardskin looks fantastic! Make sure and post pics of the final results. In the past that material has proved a real problem child for me. Can't seem to get it past a glossy semi-polish. Please let us know if you find a recipe that works really well for a glassy polish....Mel

I've got a load of leopard skin in its second week after a less productive intro to the course grit. I think I overloaded the barrel and got less tumbling than desired. I'm a little concerned to read that it's a difficult tumble. But I will soldier on.

NMRocks, I can get some if you are truely interested. It sells at local rock shop for about $3.50/lb - that's were I got mine.

NMrocks: The stone you've pictured wirewrapped is what we call dalmation jasper. It seems to work up a bit easier than the leopardskin jasper which is more of an orbicular rhyolite and seems much more porous....mel
