James.....that is disturbing and a blatant disregard for your privacy. I question their motives and how they came upon that property to begin with....?
I know you own acres off of the beaten path, that is why I question their motives.......It's been my limited experience with mobile film production (aerial stuff I was involved with), that producer/director types have within their capacity, scouts who are paid to research and explore potential environments for productions. It is not a haphazardly, spur of the moment expenditure on any production budget......especially the size of crew you experienced......bar none.......It may have came about from previous exposure you permitted in that past.....! Regardless, private property requires permissions in place prior to encampment.
Something or someone tipped them off of that location, or surrounding environments. By the sounds of it, your concern for your personal and property safety came into play here. If it were me, I'd file a complaint with local law enforcement (be it what it is), and ask if they had any knowledge of this or other events like this within your vicinity, and also demand to see the production companies permits to perform such.......all state's (even the backwoods of Georgia/Alabama) require permit permission and or authorization to encroach on private property..........Sorry for the tough guy response, but you live where you live for a reason.......!
There is no "I'm sorry" with this situation........these ass-holes will continue to violate other's privacy unless someone smacks them in the mouth.......regardless of the exchange of cash they dealt you.......funny how they were prepared to "compensate" you on-the-spot here & there. They've been down this road before and have gotten away with it throwing cash around........pretty obvious....typical YouTuber mentality.
For me, there are three things you don't violate my trust.......My property, My family, My personal being.......not in that order....lol.....It ain't old school, it's survival.....one gains my trust by respecting those three essentials, especially in today's society.
