Here's a couple Polka Dot Agate cabs - without dots! LOL - This material really takes an amazing polish. The second one does have an inside swoop and took considerably longer to finish due to how hard this material is. Because of the swoop in the pattern, there was no question as to what shape that one needed. The material came from holajonathan . Thanks Jonathan! Thanks for taking a gander.

Nice job on those! I've never actually cabbed polkadot agate myself, but it does seem like some tough material. I'm addicted to curves now... I can't cut a freeform without one of the two!

Thanks Perk! I used to love seeing inside curve cabs before I started working them...now I know how much of a pain they can be! LOL - I'd definitely rather do an inside curve on harder material than softer material - more room for fixing errors! LOL

A little Polkadot Trivia. The bright reds and yellows are heat treated, but it was done hundreds of years ago or more. They are debitage from the native quarry that was discovered by whoever owned the ranch back then. They would heat it up in the fire to make it knap better and keep the material they preferred for their arrow points, knives and spears. The rest went down the hill off the landing, maybe they rejected the bright colors so they could stay hidden when hunting or maybe there's a difference in the way it knaps. Elizabeth and I spent a lot of time on that hillside turning our shoes and clothes black in the ashes of a thousand fires to scoop out treasures.

I was wondering WHY the yellows and reds seemed like they were "paint"...or that's what they make me think of in the stone.

Beauties! Thanks Robin! I really think this is one of the hardest materials I've worked... Love that material, and those are some sweeet cabs! I especially like the shield! Thanks Brian! This material will definitely be on the "to-get" list in the very near future! Thank you my friend! I'm really stoked at the polish this material takes!

Thank you so much! I've had that shield done for a week and a half...but I kept putting off doing that inside swoop because I knew it was going to be a pain! Finally bit the bullet and got 'er done though. LOL

Beautiful cabs, great work! Thank you SO much! That means a ton to me! I might be bending your ear here in the near future about working a certain material you know quite a bit about...

My knowledge on anything along with a dollar might get you a cup of coffee I'm always happy to help if I'm able, however.
