Those colors are just amazing Brian! We just got the first few sprigs of green grass popping up amongst the sea of brown everywhere out here. It was nice to see the pics of some "life"!

Thanks mohs and jasoninsd ! Ed, I don’t knows much about milkweed.. but it sounds like it attracts hummingbirds. Plant it, maybe Robin and Vince will stop by! Jason, yeah our 1 or 2 weeks of spring here is just about done. It transitions into 6 or so months of summer. We'll be flirting with triple digits in the next few days. btw one of our amaryllis just opened today.. here's a couple pics

Actually the hummingbirds aren't the biggest fans of milkweed, but the Monarchs are. That's the plant they lay their eggs on and the baby caterpillars eat up until they pupate into butterfies. Personally, this hummingbird is allergic to it, but I'm still considering planting some native milkweed in the North 40 for the Monarchs. Benedryl is my friend.

Victor, it's amazing how much your dog looks like ours from behind. I showed my wife the picture and she got confused because she knew that wasn't Luke's leash and collar.

Not the most amazing flower shot but I thought I would share. This is from when I was doing a little bit of rock counting at Hunter's valley. The hornitos Poppy Jasper area. When I finished taking this picture. I realized my left hand was resting in poison oak. It wasn't good!

I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. -Jesus Indeed! How much more care did He put into creating us people?! It amazes me how God makes such beautiful rocks and minerals and they are so insignificant to most people. People walk over them and never take notice of them, but if you stop to look you see all the beauty in something so simple as a rock! (Then your hooked and you’ve become a rock hound!!)

I got lucky last night - we stayed up late BBQ'ing & caught one of our night blooming cereus' blooming.
This was an exceptionally big bloom from a little potted plant I had put in the fern bed, and forgot about.
Such a beautiful and fragrant flower from such an awkward looking plant.
