My dear wife works for a urology practice. The 'Chief' just retired this past year. Many years ago one of his patients made this sphere for him (as well as the base). Throughout the years Christa had commented on it as it sat on his desk, and when he retired he gifted it to her (us)

I believe it's Onyx from the 7 springs area.

It's a biggie!

One of the the newer dermatologists my husband has gone to is a total rock nut! Haven't met her yet (she was booked until June) but he saw her PA last month. Her office is full of amethyst cathedrals, rock on the walls, spheres, etc. mrrockpicker has an appointment with her PA in August. I'll have to take some pics of her place then.
