Happy Birthday, Bluesky Susan, Bluesky78987 !  Susan, I was thinking about you just the other day. Was contemplating a trip out to Lavic Siding once our trailer is road ready. Our first trip to Lavic was in 2018 (yeah, it took us six years to get out there, lol, after Susan had posted her 2012 trip report to there.) Susan's report - LINK. Eva and I have been thinking about a trip to that area again. We've got itches we need to scratch around the greater Barstow - Cadys, Afton Canyon, Mule Canyon, the list goes on... lol My work is bonkers again and weekend time off is not allowed again until probably December but we could both pull together some midweek days off I think. |

You've got it, Tommy. What are weekends? Lol. Right now, everyday is a weekend day. So midweek days are fine with us, or even later in the year works, too. But definitely need to time it for cooler weather. I haven't even spoken with Bob about this yet, but I know he is jonesing to get out and capture the wild rocks again. He wants to work on getting the trailer ready, but it's been too hot the last couple of days to even think about going outside! We took the suspension on the left side off a couple of years ago (wear of cheap ass parts Weekend Warrior used to assemble their cheap ass heavy trailers. Ultra-Lite, my butt!). The left side has been up in the air on jackstands for the last couple of years. While we're at it, he decided to take this opportunity to to "flip the axle" -- put the axles on top of the leaf springs to give it more ground clearance - for when he takes it off road. I think he really enjoys hearing people say, "I've never seen anybody get a trailer back in this far before!" Lol. Already purchased the flip kit from Amazon to do it. Also will be replacing the transverse jack that he ripped off, taking it somewhere he had no business taking it, lol. Bought that a couple years ago when he first ripped it off! As jamesp said, the mind is willing, but the body is weak, will see how it goes... Would love to see you and Eva again. Will keep you informed, Tommy . Jean |
