Blue Mountain and Morrisonite from Roy, MHPJ from Paul and a Rhodochrosite slab that I've had for a while. It fractured on the saw as a triangle so I recut. I'll work on the circled 4 and the last one which I will even out the face (reverse of picture).  |

I don't have a big stash of material and am constantly looking for nice stuff to work on. Fights boredom.

Heels are chopped up and uneven. I try to get them smooth and even so I can decide which site is better and flip before doming. I can keep the side I showed and continue the doming after dopping. Good colors but not as much contrast as I would like. Maybe it will improve with polishing.  |

All five are rough ground and I will finish them tomorrow. I got vugged by the Morgan Hill. Old stock material had fractures lines and could be seen. When they broke they were shiny. The new material has vugs and they don't show up until grinding the dome. The good news is as finer grits are use they can lessen or almost disappear. They are on the surface and don't continue to the back.  |

Looking good. The with extra grinding the nose will dip down but I don't consider it a big issue.  |
