Hey, nice work! There's even good potential for the broken one! Imagine how they will tumble & still form the larger shape

xenawolf--yes you're right --funny story --few years back when I first made this hanging lamp --and got it up in the living room --one of my (high school aged) daughters' friends came over and saw it --she really liked the lamp and thought I should make some to sell --said "Wow I bet you could get 30-40 dollars for one of those " I just said "yes I prob could !" (if I wanted to make less than a penny a day) hehe --true story rockds ---it isn't a total loss as I just took it to the rock-pital and wrapped it and with a little solder it was just like new --just a few scars but back in one piece again

Kim ---get her converted as soon as possible !!!---thought (glass) was a nasty word around rock hounds.hehe---I can help by sending her some small pieces of slabs if necessary for medicinal purposes only ---once she's started she's on her own tho

That turned out just beautiful! I saw a tiffany design lamp done in ocean jasper. It was really neat also. Needless to say, it sold for some BIG BUCKS! What makes them so special is that they are hand made and no two are alike. I would love to do something like that! Too many hobbies and not enough time.

Snowdog, Those are fantastic! You are a very talented and patient man...I'm sure your Daughters will enjoy there Lamps for quite some time. That is an awesome heirloom. Maybe since your retired, you can post a how-to to doing something like this. (especailly the soldering part) I'm not sure how you solder the rocks in place. I know how to solder, so what type of filler material is placed in between the slabs. I must say once again...WOW! Steve

think it was steve that asked for a tip or two ---tomarrow I will try to take a couple of pics and explain it a little better in the "tips" section ---tune in tomarrow for another chapter of the "ugly duckling rock that turns into a swan lamp"--haha
