Let me start by saying This is no endorsement! I have never used these blades and don't own one. While searching for diamond belts I noticed that Covington has blades in their clearance section, specifically, the gold series blades (20" and up) listed as buy one get one free.
The description is "These blades are still good blades, but are did not pass quality inspections. They have a slight wobble on the arbor, but this does not affect the cut once engaged."
I'm curious why it would not affect the cut once engaged. Any thoughts? I have some problems with saw marks already, not sure I'll be adding this aspect to the mix, but maybe it's a good option for someone who doesn't care about marks. I'm interested in what you have to say!

My experience with the 24" Frantom is as they state above. Even if the blade has a bit of wobble when the blade is not engaged, after it contacts the stone it cuts true and leaves no marks. What seems to cause marks is a mis-alignment between the carriage and the blade. I had an 18" Nelson with a worn carriage and it marked up slabs quite a bit.

stonemon good to know. I'm hoping to get a dial indicator to evaluate the positioning of blade and vice.

stonemon good to know. I'm hoping to get a dial indicator to evaluate the positioning of blade and vice. Covington gold blades suck. I had a 6" dish before I could even get the Diamond exposed. It's their "top seller". I called them out a few times over the phone when they started in on their script about these blades and then they admitted to me that they were just cheap economy blades and didn't hold up. Buyer beware x1000
