Hi everyone my name is Zeke Rockwell I’m a hobbyist rock hound from The Dalles Oregon I hope to learn how to effectively cut jaspers and thunder eggs I’ve collected over the years and I want to learn how to properly use my (Roc) 18” Pneumatic hydraulic feed slab saw.

Welcome Zeke! First thing that came to mind was this thread about cutting thundereggs. Lots of good info packed in there maybe you'll find a useful nugget or two. forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/71427/thunderegg-cutting-jig

Welcome from AZ, formerly from Vancouver WA I gots to ask, any chance the saw is blue with yellow powder coated innards, and you got it from Michael Sage? If so, I'm the guy who had it for about 5 years and rebuilt it. Either way, if you can post pictures, especially of the tank and plumbing, it would help. If you aren't ready to navigate the pic sharing, send me a PM and I'll shoot you an email to send pics to. That is a seriously industrial saw, built to cut rapidly and not flex, probably weighs more than 2 equivalent Highland Park or FranTom saws. The feed on those is air over oil hydraulic, and can get a little bit tricky, but once you have it set up you're good. The oil flow valve that serves as a speed control is the ticket, and if it hasn't been modified the way Michael did, you will have to "burp" it periodically, but I don't want to explain it until I see if it's changed.

Welcome from Charles Town WV. (Think abolitionist John Brown's pre-Civil War raid.)
You've certainly come to the right place! My wife and I have been unofficial rock-hounders for decades, but recently got into the tumbling aspect of this hobby. I have learned a lot from the folks here, but also via trial and error.
Don't be shy about asking for advice/help. There are lots of folks slabbing who I just know can help with anything you care to know.
