My first successful groove wrap - down to the wire My sister is getting off an airplane in about an hour & I only finished it this morning over coffee.
Whew.
She's been very stressed about her job lately & read in Rock & Gem that Sodalite is the best for relieving stress, and so I made her a present.
Even better it having the bare stone on the back ( vs bezel set) so she can get the most benefit from wearing it against her skin
Anyway I'm pretty happy the way it came out - only took me three tries !

Very nice job, that's a nice looking pendant. Love the deep blue and a great polish.

Way to go Patty!! The cab is outstanding - great shape and polish on that! And the groove wrap came out great! I really do like the way it isn't flush with the cab. I know it can go either way, but it really works well on this one. Very clean looking bail. Great present!!

Thank you all.
My sister loved the pendant , even put it on for dinner .
As I said the wrap thing is new to me, and being used to making bezels or a prong setting, it seems natural to me to show the wire.
I ended up using a dead soft 20 gauge square wire for the groove, as the 20 gauge half hard round wire I had was just not working for the bail. I'm guessing the soft temper was right. Learning ( or trying to) :-)
Anyway, our company has woken up, & I'm up to make breakfast.
Thanks for the nice comments - made me smile
