Okay, this is the last, I promise. Wouldn't it be nice to live here. Those 2 trees are a lesson in Bonsai. closeup of previous pic Moonstone Beach On Sat afternoon we drove from the coast to the central valley and as we came out of the mountains, this was our view of Mt Lassen at sunset. These next 2 shots are also of MT Lassen from a different angle taken Sunday morning. This volcano last blew it top in 1914-1915. It used to be all one mountain. This is Mt Shasta Well, hope you liked the view of our beautiful state. It was really nice to get away from the city for a few days. Ed

Yup, definately a place I must visit. I have a friend in San Fran. I'm sure he wouldn't mind if we crashed out on his living room floor for a few nights.
Maybe we can all hook up (you, Tony, and me w/kids)

Alice, let me know when you plan on coming out. Cal(Redwoodrocks) is in our neighborhood too.

we'd probably start our road trip over at the end of June some time (providing I can get a house / cat sitter)
Of course we have to stop at each amusement park, and road side attraction along the way. So I'm guessing it would probably take us about 1 - 2 weeks to get there.

Ed, that's just beautiful. I've never had the chance to visit out there so your pics are a joy to look at. Do you have more in a photo album?

Cher-I have more photos but I haven't uploaded them yet. Would you like to see them? I can give you access after I upload them if you like. Tony-Found a lot of nicely rounded stones, some jade, and only a few agates. There's another post with pics of what we found.

That's certainly some beautiful coastline! I also really like it a bit inland, driving through the redwoods. Looks like you hit some decent weather, doesn't it get kind of rainy there this time of year?
Nice camera work too.
