Long story short, I have thousands of pounds of this stuff in the rough. As far as I’m aware, and after asking my dad, I’m pretty sure my grandpa was the one who dug this material up and brought it home. My dad said he remembered when my grandpa brought it all home in the back of his truck. He was cutting logging roads south west of prineville, out in deschutes county if he’s not mistaken. Along with all the rough, he had buckets of slabs cut up as well. Had Chinese jasper written on all of them. Unfortunately I never got the opportunity to ask. As far as I know.. I’m the only one with the material. Stuff comes in lots of different colors and pattern ways.

LOL That is so cool! realrockhound , that is some of the most amazing material I have ever seen. It's pretty amazing! Like them all but the last one is my favorite. Thanks Bro! I figured that last one was going to be the pick of the litter. I don't think there's a runt in the batch, but that last one does stand out.

Great material realrockhound! As soon as I seen the 5th one down Eternal Flame by The Bangles started playing in my head. OMG. I can't lie...as soon as I read this I jumped over to YouTube and watched the video. I haven't heard this song in years...definitely brought back some memories! Beautiful material and cabs! I like that last cab the best, too. Thanks Robin! Yeah...even though I really like every one of these cabs, that last one is a definite standout due to all of what's going on in there.

jasoninsd that is some unreal material from realrockhound and you've balanced that with unreal skillz. Ok but they are real skillz otherwise I may or may not be able to see the pendants... so are those schroedinger's skillz and pendants? All I know is I want to pick up more skillz and find neat rocks. (Sounds like a line from Say Anything the movie).

Thanks Tela! I'm dying to know if someone (ahem...Mel) recognizes this material...it's not a "newly dug" material. The colors really can be pretty in this stuff!

But it's so shiny I can't tell where it is Thanks Patty! Yeah...that sixth one reminded me of a "landscape" scene with fire on the horizon. jasoninsd that is some unreal material from realrockhound and you've balanced that with unreal skillz. The 6th one reminds me of the views of the Oregon wild fires a few years back. The hills/mountains scorched by the fires, with the bright orange light from the fire and smoke in the background. Seeing the destruction it left really hit me. I actually came dangerously close to getting caught in the fire coming over the santiam pass.

Seeing the destruction it left really hit me. I actually came dangerously close to getting caught in the fire coming over the santiam pass. It was a very sad time and the views were other-worldly. That cab is indeed reminiscent of the orange red sun and glow. Some of those days were such a challenge, hearing about so much loss and death was overwhelming at times. I don't know how the people experiencing it could bear the pain. I am glad you made it safely over the pass, that would have been treacherous.
