We have a local auction house that every now and then has some cool things. They however, take some of the worst pictures I've ever seen. You can go inspect the items, but they are around an 40 minutes from us so we rarely go inspect the stuff before we buy. Case in point We picked the stuff up today and I was doing some happy dancing Stay tuned

The turquoise I'm iffy on. But the opal for sure was a huge score I would not be too iffy on it. Take a red hot needle and press it into the back of a piece. If its stabilized you will smell chemicals. But the “black and blue” stuff may be Bisbee and if I am correct it sells by the carat. Like $20 a carat.

Welcome back to the forum.
I am going to test them tomorrow and I'll post an update.
Some I am sure are the real deal and some I'm not too sure

Ali, you did good on the turquoise. Even if it is stabilized, it goes for starting at around $150/lb. If it's not, the sky's the limit. It's stupid expensive.

I'm not a Turquoise connoisseur by any stretch of the imagination, but the solid blue stuff in the second picture sure looks like it could be some of the really good darker blue Sleeping Beauty. Turquoise is tricky to say where it's from though, and an expert I'm not.

OMG... I'm gobsmacked lol. That plume agate thunderegg, holy crap. How thick is the slice?
Regarding the turquoise I think the solid blue and shiny batch might be dyed howelite but I'm certain that most of it is authentic.

LOL that's the stuff I thought looked "TOO" good to be real - I hope you are right about it and not me in calling it howelite.

I hope I am, too, but there's an easy way to tell if it's Tidy Bowl Blue or not. Just touch it on a wheel a bit to see if the blue grinds off to white.
