Ron, I'd say those came out pretty good I like the striped one in the second picture. What is it?

Hey those look pretty darn good to me. Some nicely colored slabs you have there too. Doesn't it just suck in the winter, you have to go for days and days and days before the sun comes back out. That's what I don't like about winter, the gray gloomy days. I like 'em Ron, good job! Still think it's sad that you have to wait until spring to start it up again. Hope that won't keep you away from the nuts here, you are a part of the craziness so don't go too far away.

I like the striped one in the second picture. What is it? Hey Alice, that is a slab of pet wood. I posted a few months ago with a photo of a chunk of blue pet wood that I had found. This was a very thin slab off of that piece. The slab is just one mm thick and it doesn't look so blue once it's cut that thin. Hey Cher, I'm not going anywhere! In fact, I'm still working on a way to keep at some tumbling going. I started by putting my frozen water hose down inside the well pit. There it thawed and I have the nozzle hanging from a wire so I can lift the lid and pull up the hose when I need it. I took my old kerosene heater that didn't work so well anymore and cut down the wick and pulled up some new wick. It's working quite well now. Thinking that I can always fire that up in the morning of a day when I have to do a barrel. I haven't given up yet. Ron

Your Lortone didn't freeze though, right? I am very sure that it'll never freeze as long as it's in motion, because it's all rubber (I'm probably sticking my foot in my mouth by saying that). Let us know if it ever does freeze.

Nuttin' wrong with those!
I guess if the freeze didn't crack any rocks then no damage done...

Nice mixed batch! Great pattern in the petwood, I'm impressed that you could cut it so thin and not have it shatter in the tumbler.
