I wish they had a Wire Wrapping For Dummies book. I want to create jewelry and have the beginners tools, wire supplies and plenty of stones ready... But each time I try any of the ideas I've found on the internet it's a complete fail or I get overwhelmed and give up. Any tips? Like is there a certain size stone that's better? Ideas on how to get myself started successfully? Any ideas or thoughts would be much appreciated.

Hey Shell!
When I first took up wire-wrapping, I went on YouTube and watched a bunch of different tutorials. I picked up on some things here and there in a bunch of different videos...then chose what I thought might be one of the easier tutorials to follow and dove in.
As far as the size...now that you mention it...I'd say a cabochon that's about 1.25-1.5" might be a good place to start...

What kind of wire wrapping do you prefer? Concentrate on one style at a time. The techniques are a bit different. Think of it like anything else you want to learn. You have to get down the basics and build on that. jasoninsd is right. Start with a fairly large size, they are easier to manage at first. I think Oxana on YT probably has the easiest tutorials and they all share similar techniques. Once you understand how the wire behaves and how to control it, other styles will be easier to do.

I agree with both Jason and Tela.
Search for beginner tutorials first so that you can get the basics under your belt. Once you have the basics down, the rest of it will be easier.
