Latest batch out of the tumbler. Pretty dang pleased with it. Some of the pictures are too dark despite me using the flash. I really got to go dig out the digital camera and stop thinking my phone is good enough lol. First is the best Rose Quartz tumble I have ever done. This stuff turned out amazing and I have never seen banding like the one piece has. Almost zero fractures in this stuff. Unfortunately it came in some strange Charkra kit I got off Amazon (I do Amazon Vine reviews). Next is some very nice Missouri Lace I got from a member here. I love this stuff but man it is a challenge to tumble. I would love to get more if anyone has any! Some Montana's and Brazils. Picture way to dark, but you get the idea Some more Amazon stuff. The dark stuff in the upper right is Amethyst so another too dark photo (I really got to learn to "adjust" my photos) Oh and check out the clear quartz! That is some pretty amazing stuff as well! And the rest of the batch, more or less. I have the Model B and the AR 12 running the 60/90 stage and should start to see a pretty steady stream of finished tumbles every couple weeks now. My biggest problem right now is most of my rough needs to be chunked down to tumbling size and I just can't make enough during the week to feed the tumblers on the weekend (working 10 to 11 hour days right now- money is great, but what a time suck). I have the slab saw running most evenings, but I really need to pull out the Workforce 7 inch and cut down some food for the tumblers!

Great pieces! You are motivating me to re-tumble a batch of rose Quartz I did when I first started tumbling a couple years ago. They are not very shiny so I'm sure I get do better now that I have a bit more experience.
Regarding taking photos with your phone, I would recommend never using the flash. Most phone flashes are not good, especially at very close range. It might also be that your phone "sees" the white background cloth and thinks it's getting good light. I go with natural light close to a window to get good results.

Yeah this phone camera is a pain. I never thought about the white background. Gonna try something different next time. I did take several shots without the flash and the were horrible.

Stefan, those turned out great! Each night you may have to end up flipping a coin to see whether you're gonna do slabs or shapinng for the tumbler.

Those are some beauties for sure. I’ve never tumbled rose quartz but have been thinking about it.🤗

I've been the same way with rose quartz lately. I've made a heart and a couple small cabachons. Nothing all that special but I really like them. Your tumbles look great. The agates are beautiful. With the comment on your pics coming out too dark with the phone, I was having the same issue. Try changing your background. The camera is metering off all the white. Put your stones on something dark and the results will be a lot different. Just read back through and see electrocutus beat me to the punch with the background advice. Great advice!

This Pixel is too smart for its own good. If it has a white background it ends up coming out yellowish. Most pictures get a warm tone to them. Can't really adjust it. The gray felt helped, but lighting is still a challenge.
Anywho, rose quartz is a challenge and these look great! Good job!

a very nice collection and variety. The rose quartz is great. I tumbled a large piece with another big agate and mookaite and it came out OK, but it has a huge fracture right down the middle, looks like it has two halves. One shop said to use plastic beads to tumble rose quartz and so I did, but I don't think it worked as well as ceramics would have. I still like it though. Really like the Montana agates too.
