i got this material from Kingsley North last year and really hated to whack with a hammer as it was so pretty just in a chunk. but...too big for my saw, so whack whack, into the tumbler. (i actually got a few smaller pieces slabbed to cab at a later date). so i ran these about 3 weeks in 60/90, a week in 120/220 and 2 weeks in 600 and then 10 days in Cerium. i am not a big fan of Cerium, but i figured, heck, i'll give it another try with these. i had high hopes running it that long in polish, but alas! those hopes were dashed!! not very shiney at all! i swear that Cerium is going in the trash! anyway, 7 more days in CPP and i'm happier now ;D: different lighting: and a closeup: there were a few "do overs" in this batch to try and get a better shine too.... thanks for looking! Shoot KD, they look pretty shiny in the pic. I think I can see the reflection of trees or something in the final pic. Interesting material! Looks like orbs in some of the pieces. Is that simlar to what they call Misty Mountain Jasper from Madagascar?....mel

Wow, spectacular shine!! That stuff is really pretty. I'm with you on the cerium, I'm not impressed with it at all. I use it now and then for a pre-polish to AO.
Hey, where'd your Christmas mouse go?

I'm curious about those red/orange/black ones in the bottom right of the top pic. What are those?

Great Job KD, I know they're do-overs but I like the ones right of the sodalite (1st pictue, red & black ones), and the 2 left of the sodalite. those look really interesting.

Those look great. On my computer monitor, they look like they have a very good shine.

Amazing how much they changed in different light. I like the middle picture best.

Wow, KD, now don't tell me you can't do some wonderful things with those "natural" shapes. I love em! Try mixing the cerium with a little borax, makes it stick to the stones better (something new I just discoverd!) Seriously, if you have a lot of cerium, I'll buy it from you so it won't be a total waste. As you know, I somehow manage to get great results with it.

KD - Make sure you don't toss the baby with the bathwater. Keep the rocks, toss the cerium.
Great batch - patience wins. Black gold red triangle is a beaut. Pink and white popsicle is cool, unusual.
