That's a very nice cab! My first was way worse than that. Great job on the shape, polish, and girdle. What is the story? -Nicholas

In the 1970s my uncle John and namesake hounded a 6-inch nodule from Red top mountain that nodule then went through a house fire and ultimately was inherited by my father and my uncle John passed away some 30 years later my dad and I join a rock club and saw that nodule and lo! There was blue on the inside some will question if it's ellensburg blue or not but it comes from the tanaway basalt above the fluvial plain that ellensburg is below. So it's sentimental to me and my family and I believe I'll make a ring out of it to remember Uncle John. Johnny aGates

Wonderful first effort! I love the story- it certainly should stay in the family.

That sounds like where the Ellensburg blues come from as I recall. if you have time, check out some of Nick Zentner's videos on Ellensburg blues... kinda addicting to start listening to his geology talks...

I think it's the agate it seemed to polish itself thank yah all. I have another small preform of this variety I'll be doing as well. Than some Amy sage hits the wheels. And then some local green water red and black agate. Thank yah all! Untill next time. Johnny aGates.

My man Nick Zentner is a treasure. I certainly have listened to everything he has put out on the e burg blues. Also his liberty Gold episodes are fascinating. Same local area as the teanaway basalt.

Nice cab. I like the high dome. I prefer the high domes. 5 / 16 and 3/8ths inch slabs fly off my saw

That is a nice cab. It's a shame what has become of red top though.
