In the ID thread, I mentioned Vince and I bought some rocks from a friend's stash. Most of it was your run of the mill stuff, but we did snag some really nice stuff. There were Amy Sage slabs that are huge, some Burro Creek material, a few different types of palm wood, some thundereggs and geodes (I didn't take pictures of these) and these two: Covelite chunk which is just under a pound: And a nice chunk of Morrisonite with an awesome pattern: The few slabs of dino bone in the upper left of the pictures was also part of it, but the bone isn't that spectacular. We were really excited to find the Covelite and Morrisonite.

(Or...I suppose it could be left as a specimen...sheesh! LOL) Jason, I there's 5 slabs that size and then 3 that are about half that size. We'll probably sell some of them at our show in August. It's times like these that I wish I had a vibe lap to polish them on. Then I could sell them for a lot more.

Yeah...I've been tumbling Teepee Canyon slabs hoping to have a bunch ready for the show in less than two weeks. I still haven't decided what I'm going to price them at...and I still haven't put prices on my wraps yet! LOL - I like the pressure of doing that all last minute! LOL

hummingbirdstones I read a couple of days ago a fun fact about hummingbirds. When I read it I immediately thought of the forum. so here it is: Hummingbirds are one of the few birds that pee. they get so much water in their diet they have to relieve themselves where most birds dump the urine solids in with the #2 waste.

Wowww, those are incredible! I love the colors and patterns. I’ve never heard of those particular rocks, let alone seen them. 🤗

That Morrisonite is a beautiful specimen, it'd be hard to cut that one up, cool as it is. But the Amy Sage is interesting, no template necessary, I can see the shape of the cabs you're going to cut. Cool stuff.

Cool stuff. Patty Morrisonite is one of my all-time favorites. I don't know if we'll cut that one or not. We might get 2 small slabs and then some other bits out of it if we do cut it. It's probably one of those too pretty to cut stones.

Thanks for the comments on the rocks. The Covellite and Morrisonite are both around 2-1/2" x 3". Not much Morrisonite like that around these days.
The polished spot on the Covellite is the only altered surface, and there isn't a spot of brown anywhere on it. Since it doesn't have any cut or broken surfaces it's probably worth more to a collector the way it is. The lower-grade stuff we've seen in recent years would yield similar size cabs from between the crappy spots.
The Amethyst Sage slab is 6" x 10-1/2", so it's definitely cuttable.

I read that you could make more off of them polished, and I would be more than willing to help out with my vibe lap if the need be. I would be worried putting something that breakable and valuable in shipping though. The morrisonite is probably my favorite. Those are some nice rocks. -Nicholas
