This is a piece (smallest) I got from Sturgis S.D. my question is what the heck can I do with it I took one 2 footer in to "bernie's rock shop" to get a slab and show the grain (will post later) but reality says it's to nice to "bust up" and suggestions? TYIA

That's a very nice piece of pet wood but unless you're into displaying pieces, I'd bust it up. Can't tumble anything that big. Guess you could always put it up on ebay.

I would suggest you split it with the grain and then put the long pieces that will fit your tumbler in and then you would still be able to keep the beauty of the piece just more of them. Tami

Yeah, go ahead and whack it. Its to big to tumble and to fractured to cab well. Oh yeah, one other thing you could do with it. Send it to me. Merry Christmas. ;D Pete

Keep at least one piece to display. You can get cheap plastic holders at either some rock shops, or in the case of the pics below, this is a plate holder from a department store, but I'm using it to display a 3 lb+ piece of petwood I found, instead of an expensive plate. This petwood looks to be about the same size as yours (quarter in there for scale), but I'm sure they come in different sizes so you can get one to match most sizes of slab or rough.

It sounds like you have enough of it to do a little of everything with it. I know what yer saying about not wanting to just bust it to pieces. I have a small chunk of pet wood that looks too nice ( to me ) to break apart, but don't really know what else I can do with it - so it just sits on the coffee table lookin' pretty (for now, anyways).
