Hi All This is my first ever cab, it was bigger to start with but I dropped it in the sink and it broke so I had to trim it down. It is a piece of flourite, I know its not much to look at as far as the cabs on here go but I wanted to start simple so as to get the hang of the new cabbing machine. Cheers Chris

looks great! Are you going to wrap it? I cant try my hand at wrapping yet as I havent the wire, so I am thinking along the lines of making another cab the same size and turning them into a pair of earings to give as a christmas present. Cheers Chris

Chris, that's very nice. I'm really impressed since that's the first one, you've got the touch for it.

Thanks all for the comments.
The machine is a british one made by Beach Lapidary LTD it is called a cabmaster. Incidently the cab was done using silicon carbide disks 220/400/600 stuck on the rubber disc attachment and the polishing was done on the felt disc attachment using tin oxide.
Cheers Chris

Looks super, especially for a 1st try!!! Way to go!!! That flourite sure is a bear in the tumbler! Yers doesn't have all that haziness that I encountered.

So were you able to correct/re-do the haziness from the tumbled flourite?

To be honest I havent tried redoing it as it was done in the kiddy tumbler, I have a batch of stones coming out of my proper tumblers possibly tomorrow. I will chuck the stuff from the kiddy tumbler in with the next batch for polishing.
Cheers Chris
