Hey everyone. Just joined and just purchased a 3lb tumbler from RockTumble. Now before I go crazy and dump some rocks and grit in there does anyone have any advise? I'm hoping to produce some nice pieces that my daughter can use to make jewellery with. Could also do with knowing of some good rock suppliers in the UK. Many thanks in advance.

Welcome from Northern Arizona! I would suggest that you peruse the Rock Tumbling board and read some of the threads that say New, Need Help with Tumbling or some such thing. There is also a pinned post that is gathering information for new tumblers in one thread. If you have any questions, create a new thread on the Rock Tumbling board. It will be seen by all the tumblers in this community and will get answered more quickly. We have lots of expert tumblers here, so you have landed in the right spot!

Advice? Patience patience patience. Read all you can while you wait for the rocks to shine. with 1 tumbler (3 lbs) you can expect to tumble a batch for 10 to 16 weeks depending on the rocks and the recipe you choose. Lots of time to read up on the amazing info on this board!
