The last two weekends saw me out working two rallys in Nevada, First was Reno- the stage I worked was about 100 miles noth in the Selenite mountains, then last week it was down to Laughlin for the Ramada Express international Rally. All the rocks that came home with me are starting to clutter up the kitchen I made a stop just north of Beatty NV where the Nevada Gem Trails book says there's a "picked over" chalcedony area, I managed to find some really nice pieces there- here's a small sampling after they hit the saw; This red veined agate is pretty amazing and this bluish banded agate should come out nice too; Finally, this one I just couldn't bring myself to cutting or hammering, I think it will stay intact as a cabinet specimen

LOL Your desk looks like mine. Nice agates, looks like you had a great time picking rocks there. Can't wait to see how the bluish banded agates turn out.

lol my husband was rushing to the kitchen to get his supper and 2 rooms away i heard him trip over a rock and i came running saying "you better not have hurt that rock". my child was running to tell on him and met me about halfway saying "daddy said he's tired of these rocks in the floor".

Kim
If you get that workshop finished there wouldn't be any rocks in the house for hubby to trip over ------------------------------------------for a least a week.

Looks like a great find to me! How could you not bring 'em all home with ya?
If it's any consolation, our kitchen definitely has more rocks in it than food! And it'll prolly stay that way since (in my mind anyways) rocks have a much higher priority!
Sometimes, I'll use a drinking glass to balance my tumbler barrel on when I'm sorting thru my rocks at the kitchen sink. My favorite glass is short & stubby and my vibe barrel sits on it perfectly. Well, one time I forgot I had used the glass for my balancing act and I later got a drink of water from that glass. Luckily, it was the polish barrel! Needless to say, I had the gritty taste in my mouth for quite some time afterwards. Unfortunately though, I didn't see any noticable improvement in the appearance of my teeth. I guess that means I'll have to continue to visit the dentist.... darn!!!

Nothing you can do about, if you see a great rock you just have to pick it up, it's like it calls out your name and you just can't leave it behind. I do the same thing, I have rocks in the floor board of my back seat that I picked up in October at a big parking lot close to a convience store. Tami
