Wondering if something has changed with Pro-Boards.
I used to be able to photograph rocks, cabs, slabs, etc., and post here with minimal issues. I would take the photo with either my Iphone 10 or Cannon DSLR. Just use save for web feature. I do not have internet access via phone.
Every photo I now take with those is about 56" wide and over 5 Megabites in size. I cannot adjust the size without using PSE.
The edit size via PSE (Photoshop Elements) has been a lifesaver. Use the save for web feature to edit size. Then need to sharpen some. Then use Cloudinary to download. After download, I need to use BBC code to change the percent from 100% to 50-60%.
In the past, using this method resulted in clear photos. Almost everything I post now is blurry. I have to do more edits and upload a new photo.
I love sharing photos here, but most of the recent ones have taken over an hour to make them good enough to share.
is anyone else experiencing the same issues? Thanks

fernwoodEvery time you edit and save a jpg it will lose resolution. You should be able to tell your camera to take smaller pictures. Cloudinary will re-encode your photos also. You have to tell it to maintain 100% Quality when you upload your photos.

I improved my pictures by getting a better camera. I had my Olympus pen em1 for almost 9 years. I use the macro setting. I bought an expensive macro lens but it needs an auto focus. The quality of pictures varied by how steady I could hold the camera and available light. I bought an expensive Olympus OMD with better auto focus and everything else. I reinvest what I make on Etsy on material, equipment and supplies. The camera was a better investment than a new slab saw.

I haven't noticed anything different. I usually use PSE, too. No issues.
