Hi. I don’t know what the angle I should have the vice carriage to the 20” blade I’ve just replaced. Currently the pencil i clamped in the vice at front of blade contacting it moves away to rear with 1/8” space. Is that a good angle for a twenty inch blade?

Did you rotate the blade so the section where the pencil was touching at the front is in the back when you push the carriage to the back. Otherwise you cant tell if the 1/8 inch is from the carriage being misaligned or if the blade has a slight wobble to it

No I didn’t think to. I’ll check that out and tr putting more pressure on the arbor to put a larger bolt through to the saw frame mounting hole. The in the tub parts were mounted in a homemade tub and the builder used smaller diameter bolts to fasten arbor down. I’m putting larger bolts in to fill the arbor mounting holes. I think that is why it shifted. Should the gap be more like 1mm or is a Perfectly straight cut the best idea. I get that too big an angle the blade binds

It will help prevent things from shifting around over time. 1mm is fine, but the straighter the better. Nobody ever complained that their saw is too perfectly aligned!
