No, I'm not fat lol! I finished three teardrops today of some of my softest materials. IMG_20220621_194831463 by Perkins17, on Flickr Labeled from left to right; self collected calcite (San Diego), Kingston copper conglomerate (Michigan), and Mohave purple turqoise in bronze. Calcite: IMG_20220621_194846256 by Perkins17, on Flickr Copper conglomerate: IMG_20220621_194901741 by Perkins17, on Flickr Turqoise: IMG_20220621_194921943 by Perkins17, on Flickr These are some of the softest materials I have ever worked, and the Mohave was cutting all the way through, even on the 50k. I hate that stuff lol. Sorry my fingers made an appearance, I know they're ugly (aren't cut up fingers a sign of a true cabber?) but I am in a hurry to get back to the cabber. The motor was too hot to keep going without a break. -Nicholas

Thanks so much my friend. I hate working the stuff, but I love the material's looks. When I brought it to the club, it drew a lot of attention (thought not as much as the pizza the guy after me brought in, it was pot luck night) when I was cutting it up. I'm glad you think I did it justice. I think I'm going to go throw it at someone to relieve my frustration at it. -Nicholas

Sorry to hear that. Yeah, basically. It could have been not enough water or something else as well but idk. I'm good now, just felt pretty much like losing my cookies for a few hours.

I'm curious about the Mohave purple turquoise in bronze, very beautiful stuff. Is it a cast man made stone ? I'm thinking it has to be, bronze is not naturally occurring.

I just have to find that piece I still have that's somewhere in the bowels of our studio.

I've got a little stack of like five tiny slabs that I'm too scared to cut up. This was one of them for a while.

It was a gift slab from one of my in person rock buddies, Brian. This guy really has shown me a lot of kindness and really helped me get going in the hobby. I was shocked when I looked it up a while back, but this guy has a ton of expensive materials and is the best cabber I've ever seen, even on here. He's been cabbing for over 30 years. I'm glad you think so, I'm happy with how it turned out.
