Here's a cute little story along this subject line that happened to me...
I went to Calgary for a week on business a couple years back & while I was there I had to have a taste of the local night life (which was pretty darn fine if I may say so)
Me & two of my buds from work were at a bar called "Outlaws" one night & we were all doing fairly well with the ladies (surprisingly) but this one girl was particularly interested in me for most of the night & we ended up dancing quite a bit together. I didn't think too much of anything at the time since I was just there for a good time while I was in town & that's exactly what I was doing!
At some point in the night I commented on this bracelet she was wearing, which was a sort of silver lattice with some different small stones wired into it. It looked hand made but it was quite well done for it's simplicity. She said a friends mom gave it to her & she didn't really like it that much. I told her that I thought it was really nice.
Well, seeing as I wasn't in the position to "take anyone home" after, I never gave a second thought to the idea of having anything to do with this girl after the night was over (or a first thought for that matter) and at some point later on my buds came to get me when it was time to bail.
She tried to convince me to stay & I explained that I was "from out of town" "here on business" & "these guys were my ticket here", "Have to work in the morning" etc. (this was a Thursday night). Then she offered to give me a ride home later if I stayed & this made me a bit uncomfortable being in a strange place with some girl i've only known for a few drunken hours wanting to "take me home" and all...
Anyways, I politely declined but agreed to have one more dance (slow) and at some point when we were close I guess she slipped this bracelet & a small piece of paper with her # on it into my shirt pocket. (she was practically wrapped right around me at that point) ((quite affectionate too!))
I didn't notice until I got back to my bud's place, (probably beacause I was too hosed & happy with myself at the time) but when I was getting undressed to crash for the night on the hide-a-bed, this bracelet fell out of my pocket & I found the little paper with those seven lucky numbers on it. I realised what had happened & I was TOTALLY blown away that she wanted me to "call her to return her bracelet", like any good guy would
At this point I felt like a silly little kid with a crush.
So i'm thinking....
DAMN! I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Right? ;D
Unfortunately, I never did manage to work up the, uhhh, "courage" to call her (sober) after cluing in. I really thought I should call her but at the same time I didn't want to have to deal with her again since she seemed really nice & I knew she wanted to see me again so I didn't want to have to turn her down. Gee, what a horrible dilemma huh!
Of course, I had to bash my head on the wall a bunch of times over it later when I thought about it more but oh-well, what's a guy to do eh???
...I STILL have that thing around here somewhere too!
I'd have a real hard time "getting rid of it" since i'm such a sentimentalist but it's not the kind of thing you want your S.O. to stumble across & start asking questions about, ya know!
