I was browsing Craigslist and marketplace today, and saw this post: spokane.craigslist.org/for/d/spokane-lapidary-equipment/7503690643.htmlI'm not "really" in the market for a faceting machine, but for 200 bucks??? Maybe? What do you guys think of the "master faceter" maybe I can haggle them down a little too. I'm totally ignorant to the faceting world, so I need some help. I know it will probably need new faceting disks and maybe a new handpiece, but I just thought I'd ask. Thanks for the help in advance.  -Nicholas |

I looked into it some more, and found out it is the MDR Master Faceter. Has anyone worked with these before?

Parts might not be easy to find for that faceting machine. If you don't already have a flat lap it might be good to have at a price you like.

It might be near impossible to find replacement parts for it. There is an MDR users FB page and you may be able to get more information on there. The gentleman who was making MDR stuff passed in 2016 from what I can tell. He was in Idaho. |

Thank you. It was bad because I was helping move my dad's basement office and found out that there was a leak somewhere in that room that got under the giant heavy desk and started to grow mold on the carpet. So yesterday was spent moving a GIANT executive type desk and a full office into the living room and peeling up the carpet to bleach, kill, and find the source of the mold. Sorry for the rant, just needed to vent. |

Just an update, it is now $150. I'm going to keep watching. If it gets to $100 or below I might be interested in seeing what's wrong with it.
