In a very strange turn of events I actually find myself on a weeks vacation. Well my wife and I are hoeing out the basement with the hopes of making room for a pool table and of course I have to do some cutting. We are about 1/3 done with the clean out (my god how did I accumulate so much useless crap?)and I have cut a few folks in the process. Here is a group shot (plus some puppy paws for reference? or just nosy dogs looking to steal slabs when I'm not looking) Mozambique agate, Texas plume (Woodward ranch), some Bahai agate and Jasper Texas plume and dog paws Burro creek agate. I have been cutting a lot of this lately. No idea why. Just searching for some nicer stuff, but most of it is pretty plain and just get chunked up for the tumbler. THe opaque stuff is kind of what I'm chasing but with move lavender tones. The clear stuff has some interesting mossy inclusions, but nothing is really jumping out at me. I may put some SM. FRB together and sell some of this if anyone is interested. There is another chunk of Burro Creek in the saw right now. Probably going to finish that one and on other then move on to some pet wood.

Sometimes in life, it's super nice to take a paws and look at slabs! What size pool table are you planning on getting?

I believe it to be an 8 ft. A kid at work wants it out of his parents house (he has no room in his apartment and doesn't play any longer anyway). His dad is in the process of downsizing and they would like to get it out before winter. I keep asking the kid to give me measurements so I know if I can get it into my basement, but you know how kids are lol. Even if we don't get the table I still need to get my basement cleaned out as I am planning on bringing the slab saw inside this winter because my garage is way to cold to work in.

Yeah...they're not in a rush until it's the last second...and then it has to be moved NOW! LOL This doesn't have anything to do with making the corners going INTO the basement...but the "normal" size pool cue is 58"...so with that in mind, for an 8' pool table, you'll need a room size of 13'4"x17'...bare minimum. olhausengo.com/about-olhausen/pool-table-room-size-chart/*When I moved back to this area and was looking for a house to buy, my choices were limited to only two different houses. They were the only two that had a room big enough for a 9' pool table...which was a MUST! LOL - I got one of them!

Yeah I measured out the area in the basement I was thinking about. I have 14'x18' I talked to the kid yesterday and he does not think the table will fit through the doorway of the room it is in. They build the room around the table lol. His dad doesn't own a tape measure so they were using a yard stick. I guess the base does not come apart and they don't see how it will fit. When I told my wife, she said let's just go buy a new one.

LOL Your wife just made Christmas and your Anniversary a LOT more expensive for you! LOL - Awesome that she's onboard with a new table!

Yeah well I know the families "reputation" and genius is never a word that was used in dealing with them. Nice enough people, but a few fries short of a happy Mel for sure
