Rockoonz and hummingbirdstones like this

CONCLUSION:
1. I put on headphones and listened to a couple favorite songs of Pink Floyd "Dark Side of the Moon".
2. Next, I shot a quick squirt of Dawn into the saw tank and refilled the water to the recommended level.
3. I ignored the first couple of sparks and completed my first cuts of pet wood. Jasper is next and anything else I can get my hands on!
Note: there are some light suds on my table top after the cut, but it doens't hinder anything. When I flush the tank it will all be a distant memory!
Happy Friday everyone!!

1. My impatience, for some reason when I try to Hulk a larger rock through at lightspeed the blade doesn't seem to like that.
2. Not draining the tank after use and letting the submerged part start rust on the blade.
3. Cutting rocks that are clearly much too large for a 10" blade.
I suppose you could condense all three down to:
1. My stupidity
Thanks for your input about your saw and on the saw blades too. I’ll check it out. The blade did ok, sort of. It got a little wonky when cutting a piece of pet wood where a darker area was, for whatever reason. Maybe the material became harder at that point or something.
The final things I learned today when trying to slab rocks was:
1. Use a small brush and wash off all the dirt and crud from your rocks BEFORE trying to cut them, or you’ll enjoy cleaning it out of the body when you change the water. 🙄
2. If you are going to use a bit of Dawn in your water, ONLY put in a drop or two, not a squirt. I mean it was like sudsy laundry day when cleaning out the base! But at least I had some nice suds to clean off some more rocks with.
3. And lastly, if you are worried about making too much noise because you’re in a duplex and sawing in your garage, just put on your headphones and you won’t hear much at all.
