I just bought this, supposed to be from Utah. I'm trying to find out where. At first I thought it was from Park Valley because of the color, But when it got here, It wasn't that color! at first I didn't think it was the stone I ordered, but . . . it is. They must have used a blue light to photograph it. Note the broken chip off the the lower left hand corner in their photo. I'm OK with the purchase, BUT . . . Is it fair merchandising?

How frustrating! I could see where you would have been overly excited thinking it was going to arrive blue. Now you're the one who's blue instead of the rock! (Too soon? )

Before I started cutting my own rocks I purchased a number of cabochons from India. Price was right & they didn't take too long to get here. BUT- the funny thing was no matter what stone they were supposed to be, what beautiful color I saw on the screen, they always arrived brown. I always wondered how they managed that . Now, I just know all the rocks in India are brown, and cut my own
Yours is interesting though 1dave. Blue would have been too nice, beige/brown looks right

All rocks from India are not brown. I have beautiful colorful agate and jasper from India, and I believe they have their share of gemstone too. The problem is India vendors, better to buy from US vendors who know who to do their wholesale purchases from, or best in person at the international shows in the US. 1dave there is no way the seller didn't know the difference between the pic and the item, the sketch level on this seller is off the charts. The entire reason that all my not in person purchases are from a handful of members here, and nowhere else.

I know you're right Lee, Rockoonz.
I certainly learned my lesson though.
