Thank God I survived with only some broken ribs. Tractor rolled off about a 8 foot terrace in thick bamboo. Twas a long painful night. Thankfully I am slender and wiry. I had presence of mind to twist in seat so that that my hips were between the seat and ground. The fender broke my ribs. It took an hour to wiggle out which actually is when the ribs broke. Very painful but lived to tell thank you God.

jamesp That could have been a whole lot worse. So glad you were able to think quickly to minimize injuries. Hope you heal quickly.

I suppose you're going to play this card when it comes time load those buckets of Rio's!!!
Seriously, I am glad that all you came away with are broken ribs, could have been a lot worse. Gravity and Father Time are a bad-ass tag team buddy, you're not going to win that match!!! It's one reason I gave away my 22 foot extension ladder, remove all temptation to use it.
Hope you heal up fast.

Oh Jim! I am so sorry! I saw the title and saw the picture and my heart sank. I am SOOOO glad you got out of it with only a few broken ribs. Not that that ain't nothing. I know it's painful.
The picture gave me flashbacks of a guy I knew who had a tractor with cutting blades on the back roll over on him. They had out nightingale helicopter him out of there. He miraculously survived hideous wounds, but his heart gave out.
It could have been so much worse for you. *Someone* was looking out for you.
I hope you heal fast and easy.

jamespGlad to know your guardian angel was watching over you and it wasn't worse than it was. I'd tell you to have a quick recovery, but from your many mishaps (car falling off jack and mashing fingers just one that comes to mind), we know that you do heal quickly. So I'll just say, get better without too much pain. Ribs tend to take a while. Gotta ask, how's the tractor?

Jim, I'm so sorry to hear about the tractor part of it...grateful to hear the injuries were minimized! *Watch the amount of pepper you use on food for awhile...sneezes are the worst for broken ribs!

Thanks for all the well wishes guys. All I can say is someone must have been looking out for me because most are not so fortunate in this situation. Over 3 decades operating that tractor on hilly grounds and pond edges and never a mishap.

Oh my word, jamesp! Thank God all you have are a few broken ribs, which I know hurt like hell! You surely have your angels flying round you. Hope your ribs knit up quickly!

Sorry to see this Jim. To add insult to injury you're probably PO'd about the tractor damage too. I've been joking with some of my young friends about wearing a life alert button and faking like I'm senile, but it's times like this that makes a guy wonder...
Get better soon.

Wow jamesp...just wow. Glad you made it out of that, considering the alternative. And, I know what you're thinking. You're more pissed about the tractor damage than you are about the injury. It's a guy thing.

Maybe it's time to really relax a little now, (you may not have a choice for a while).........I know, I know, this is your way of relaxing......lol....Idle hands don't always lay waste. Shit doesn't always happen for a reason, but sometimes......it does......clue.....clue.......lol
Take it easy Brother, try not laughing to much....or sneeze...!
I'll be in touch

Sorry this happened jamesp Best wishes for a fast, not too painful recovery. I had a similar tractor accident years ago and know they can be very dangerous in unguarded moments. Glad we both had luck on our sides.

You sure you're not a ghost at this point James?
More than lucky, glad you are still with us, that's a sketchy situation.

I have to wonder if the bamboo actually slowed down the roll. And yes how lucky to not have a stem or two penetrate your coelomic cavity like a spear. I'd say its time to consider a roll bar on that rig just to thank fate for having spared you worse damage this time around. Best of luck with the ribs, they can be dangerous in the healing process.
