Had a little scrap that I cut a free-form cab out of. It was just set up for an inside curve. I like the way this one came out. I think this material is going to polish real well too. This is just off the 3000 soft wheel. Now that I've enlarged I do see some scratches I need to go back and take care of. I'm really concerned that it's going to come apart at the crack across the center when I take it off the top stick. I guess we'll see!

Nice framing. As far as the dop is concerned, I imagine wax would not be an issue unless the dop is the only thing holding it together. I use superglue and don't rely on freeze and snap off. I use a chisel xacto blade with wedge side to the cab and tap the xacto holder with a utility knife. No divots and less stress on removal.

Thanks! I used superglue and a wood dowel for a stick. It should be easy enough to get off. If it's that fragile I guess it's got to go anyway. I just had another of the same material break during rough grinding and it looked solid.

The shape you chose on that one really accented the pattern in the material! Fantastic job on that aspect of the aesthetics!  Is this from the "Tuledad Jasper" material you posted a thread about? The polish is GREAT!! |
