A person has to look pretty hard to find this high of quality anymore, and when you do see it the sellers want big ruble. It's celebration night at Jason's house! I'm usually HORRIBLE at identifications...so I'm partying about getting this one right! LOL Seriously thank you for posing these pics! It really is one of the most amazing examples of Charoite I've seen!

I thought maybe Charoite at first Ha, I was thinking the same thing! Very nice cab by the way Bravura Cabochon Designs. Love the color. I've got a little slab of charoite in my pile of rocks I'm scared to cut.

Thanks perkins17, you got nothing to fear when cabbing this stuff. Be ready to slip on a boxing glove and tenderize a wall as necessary by no means am I a master cabber, so there would definitely be a ton of cursing and/or wall tenderizing involved with cutting and cabbing it. I think I'm going to get a little better before cutting it up. I've got some morrisonite and jade I feel the same way about.

Bravura Cabochon Designs sounds like a pain to work that material but your results are certainly worth it. It's taking me a bit to get used to the name change. Vanilla Gorilla was my son's name on his softball team.

Funny I have a slab I was cutting recently, that I thought was some kind of amethyst, but it certainly has the de-laminating characteristics and is softer than I would have though a quartz based amethyst is . Got me wondering now.....

Got to love the Charoite, I just got a couple slabs and a small chunk in my trading with John while up north, it has a lot of flash and some of the black, which looks like a deep green to me and also carries some flash, maybe AA to your AAA. I'll try to remember to tag in a new thread whenever I get to cutting some, probably in September at the soonest.
