hi all i got some stuff in for the shop and acouple others i fig ya might wanna take a peak at --- nuttin special but cool BCjade i traded for some pet wood im gonna put out for sale in chunks thunderegg halves i fig at least a cab from each i got my saw back up today and cut some of this dumerite -- if anybody knows the right name or spelling yell it out i did a search and couldent find it

Sands: I think it's dumortierite., Man that is a nice blue color. Should make some beautiful stones esp mounted in silver.

the jade cab looks pretty cool but the blue one is awsome.

Looks like you got hold of a nice piece of Dumortierite. Let me know how it polishes. The stuff I got had alot of grey areas that didn't take a polish, but the blue areas came out really nice.

thanks sabre i had the chunk sittin out on the front table and everybody says wow cool blue and i was tellin people the name but i did a search and couldent find it but that spelling worked ------ it is a better then average piece i have another one smaller and it has some of the gray matrix in it i did a small chunk real fast of the nice chunk and it does shine up pretty good i sat it on top of the chunk and this lady asked if she could buy it it only had a face polish the back was still lumpy rough so i just told her to take it hahha--she was all happy

Nice John, where'd you get all the thundereggs from? That blue stuff is gorgeous, another I suppose that's no good for tumbling.

sands that is one nice piece of dumortierite. what did you use to polish the jade? it turned out great. i bet you can think of all kinds of rocks you left behind that you want now.

Betcha he used zam to polish the jade! Great looking stuff there sands- Them THundereggs are so cool- If you get a cab from aech one what happens to the rest of the egg?

Sands: I have a nice hunk from Indian Pass here in Calif but haven't tried to do anything but slab it yet. The California material is more of a levis blue. Darker than what you have but it seems very well silicated....mel

i used zam on the jade hahaha --- i think it will polish fine in a tumbler id say its around a 5/6 mohs it was pretty hard when i did the small piece for display
mel when ya get a chance take a pic id like to see the dif in it
if i get more then one cab from the eggs thats cool but there only halves i got 15lb on ebay of mixed---- i just fig id get atleast one from each
yea kim in the last week alone i have remeberd like 5 dif kinds i left hahaha

Those are beautiful! I really love those thundereggs in the blues with the water level marks. I have a couple like that. They were just cut in half and polished. They really are eye catching!
