I committed to getting my 16” saw running this weekend. It had been a couple years since I had it running. I cleaned out the cabinet, peened the blade, adjusted the clamp a little. That took me half of Saturday. The second half of Saturday and today, I’ve been running some rocks through it. Top row, I don’t know what they are. Coprolite? RWA3006 The others are Bruneau, (one disappointing piece, one decent piece), Pastellite, Montana Moss agate. Dry and wet. Here are a couple of the MMAs backlit. thanks for looking.

Hey Brent, it's great to get your saw up and running. Reminds me that I need to hurry up and change a bearing on one of mine. Loving the slabs, the Montana moss makes me marvel at the beauty.
I'm thinking those top slabs don't look quite right to be coprolite, at least the coprolite I'm familiar with. The structure seems foreign to coprolite from what I can see.
Did I send you any coprolite last fall? I can't remember, so if I didn't let me know and we'll get some on the way.

Thanks Randy RWA3006You sent me some nice coprolite specimens last year. It kind of drives me crazy when I don’t know what a rock is or where it’s from. I found it in one of the rock piles around here. It’s likely I inherited it from my grandfather. He hounded a lot in AZ, UT and southern CA. You’re right that it’s good to have the saw running again. I kind of forgot how much fun slabbing is.

Way to go Brent! I'm so glad you got this up and running. I know you've been wanting to get it going for awhile now!

Thanks jasoninsd . The nice part is that my daughter was home for the weekend. She helped me saw some of them. Next time she’s home, I’m going to have a preform dopped and ready for her to try cabbing. She has always been the biggest helper with rocks. I can’t remember slabbing an MMA that solid before. I only see cracks on the rind of the slabs. The fields appear to be crack free. I ended up with 9 slabs out of that rock.

That MMA is definitely an amazing piece! That really would make some seriously amazing cabs or amazing specimens!!

It’s running pretty good roy. It’s leaving more saw marks since I peened the blade but they’re not too bad.

ashley. It’s a Covington 16” combination saw. It’s still on its original blade.
