lapidarycentral I didn't know you had your own site. I have seen your eBay auctions.
You have a very nice selection.
I am impressed that you call Brockman tiger eye what it is and not Marra Mamba which is what you typically see.
Your prices (the sale prices) look good, but my favorites, the cherry creek seems really high. Is there a shortage or something?

Thank you, we appreciate it greatly! Yeah, a lot of people do mislabel Brockman Tiger Eye for sure. On Cherry Creek, there isn't a shortage so much as there is just a lack of quality. What I have personally been seeing and cutting, is increasingly plain and fractured. Getting really awesome ones lately has been a huge challenge, and we find ourselves cutting 4x the amount that ends up in the junk bucket or flower bed. Also been having a large percentage of them being too fractured to even risk in the saw; knowing they'd fall apart while cutting. But, its still a material in my opinion that's worth it, and when you get a good one, it knocks your socks right off! Yep, we have had a website for a few years now. Also have an Etsy, eBay, Amazon, and Facebook that we sell on. Most of it is the same inventory, and the best prices are always on our website due to only having payment processing fees. TommyI've always been a spy here, but figured since I've been mining so much information and tips, I better get involved. We just started tumbling and this has been instrumental in helping us with figuring that out. So far we've had really great luck with all the tips and experience on here! Everyone here has been great!

I've been buying material on facebook. A lot posters from this board sell there. A lot of people are selling cabs there as an alternative to Etsy or having their own site.

Facebook and Instagram are both fantastic options for selling if someone is social media savvy. Its not for me. I have never been a good online salesman to begin with and I keep my social media circle pretty small. The folks out there that are posting several times a day to 3-4 platforms can do very well. I do very well talking and selling in person at rock and gem shows when my items can be seen in person but hate the whole taking pictures and making listings part.

This could have been written by me word for word. I tried on IG for a while - I even tried the strategy of searching out and following all manner of folks who use and presumably buy cabochons in pendants or whatever else they make. The hope is they to see you as their new follower, then they follow you in return. It actually worked astonishingly well - even now several years later I still have almost 800 followers ... but I never sold a single stone on IG that I can remember and I rarely post there anymore now that it is owned by Facebook.
