Howdy all, I finally got around to trying some cab templates. Everything I've cut previously has been free-forms. Trying the templates definitely encouraged me to think outside the box and try some new shapes on the new wheeled cabber. Gary Green: First template shape I've tried and first time working Gary Green. I really like the material and the mellow colors and intricate patterns. Laguna Lace: Free-form The flaming rain drop: no clue what material and first time trying an inside bend. Mookaite: first time working this material and really liked it. Some petrified wood, no clue what type: experimented a bit more with a swoop. Montana agate: I think this was a diamond template but I decided to change it a bit. Another unknown material, its an interesting combination of purple, orange and yellows (of any one knows please chime in!) And a Brazilian free-form to round out this set: Thanks for looking!

All nice, but I’ve got the mook at the head of the class.

Lots of firsts. Great job on them all! I like the Mt Aggie best.

Nice shine on all of them. I like the Gary Green Jasper & the swooped pet wood.

Beautiful cabs! My favorite out of the bunch is the Mook. Love those swoopy lines in the stone.
Guess on the purple cab: Looks like it could be AZ Rainbow Wood to me.

Love the "flaming raindrop" both shape and color.

Thank you all for the kind words and encouragement!! hummingbirdstones thanks for that suggestion! AZ rainbow pet wood would make sense for that one as it was from a ton of rough I picked up from a fellow and there was a quite a few nice rounds and chunks of rainbow pet wood we picked out of his rock piles. I'll have to try and find the chuck of rough this cab came from and see if it looks like pet wood. I'm still trying to learn how to identify the different types of pet wood, limb casts...etc.

Oh wow! Thank you all for the compliments and motivation!! I'm surprised the mookaite was liked so much, I almost cut it differently to tie in a greenish portion but ended up choosing to include the swooping white lines instead. Thanks y'all!
