I actually wanted to post earlier to change my vote as I got thinking. For you, Tela, rockjunquie it's not just about the stone, of course , but wrapping it. And it would seem that the balance of the piece, once you add the bail, would be for narrow up. Patty

My thought was because the orbs on the wider part of the cab were larger and more sparse, it would work better with the bail (depending on how rockjunquie designs it). In the less wide part of the cab the pattern is busier and would compete with the bail. I do like it both ways, though. It's harder to wrap a wider side on the bail end -- at least it is for me.

Well, there certainly is no wrong way to do it. I like both ways, too.
I find it harder to do small tops. Making all those bends in a small area with very demanding angles gets tedious for me.

I have a tough time deciding with these shapes, so I really don’t have much to offer. I think the bail looks better on the narrow end when looking at the pendant, but when I see these shapes on someone’s neck I like the narrow side down. My thought would be to go with the wide side up, and come up with a wider bail design. How about turning the bail 90 degrees and make it a ring, then do a wire wrapped jump ring for the actual bail? The rings would compliment the pattern. Yup, I like how you are thinking about it.
I'm about half way through the piece with the wide end at the bottom. I had to put it away for awhile- company coming.
With triangle shapes, I like the point to face down as I, too, think it is more flattering to wear.

I pick A side too. That brightest orb at 12 o’clock seals the deal imo.

My eye says Side A. It just seems more balanced.

I thought a side And still do. After ready all the posts I'm surprised so many said a bit no one talked about the arch's I like them to be like the letter n the the letter u. Looks like rolling hills and a sun over top. Or something it just looks better a side. Stunning stone.

Got this finished yesterday. Had to tumble it a while because my new pliers haven't been conditioned, yet. I caught some nicks. DOH! This didn't come out as I had hoped. DH doesn't like it all. He says it should be turned around to the A side, too. I didn't like it at first, either, but after I saw it come out of the tumbler and got a fresh look, I liked it more. There's plenty I like. I like how now the bright yellow line below the orbs is more in focus and seems to keep the mass of bubbles in check. The yellow picks up on that single orb at center directing the eye. I like that the side wires soften the corners at the top. The arch frames the bubble mass quite well, I think. Anyway, would I do it again? I dunno, but I'm not scrapping it. "A" side MAY have been better, but I seem to always take the road less traveled.

Can't you wish you had 2 similar stones & could do it both ways ? I like the front arched wire with the balled ends. Almost like a balance beam. A nice detail. Patty

Very nice, Tela! It's amazing how those side wires visually change the shape of the stone. I like that a lot!

Even though I'm on the A Team, (Love it when a plan works out...) I have to admit that from a finished jewelry standpoint the flip side is probably the best, wire wrapped anyway.

I made earrings once that were opposite each other. They were a big hit.

I'm going to be quite boring and agree with all the votes for side "A." Side B was actually confusing to my eyes (of course, I'm under the influence of painkillers following a minor surgery). Side A is lighter and the solid "band" creates a break for the eye before the pattern becomes more dense. Side B's band almost creates a void with the space below it.

I hope you heal quickly.
Interesting that you mentioned the space. I think the negative space in side b was more interesting.

I really love the wrap itself...especially those two side-wires coming off the bail. I think that really adds a gorgeous elegance to the piece. However...I'm with DH on this one with regards to the orientation. My mind still wants to see this stone the other way around...no matter how hard I try to "accept it" the way it's oriented now. LOL

I made earrings once that were opposite each other. They were a big hit.
I love earrings that are different , as long as they go together ( except when it's a matched set contest !)
I've been thinking about wire wrapped earrings , thinking of course they are harder since smaller-
any chance you have a couple to post for inspiration.
