For general purpose work throughout the summer, it's jeans and a t-shirt. Once fall hits, I have to switch the blade over to flannel. If it's an expensive rock I'm going to be cutting, I shoot for a suit and tie...maybe just a Cardigan sweater (the Mr. Rogers style). However, once the blade has run its course, there's a small ceremony of remembrance and I go with a tuxedo to lay it to rest with the other worn-out blades.

Starguy Here are the agates I cut and some miscellaneous stuff. Was at it for 2 hours! My hands hurt and feel like an 90 year old lady with RA. My fingers started locking up towards the end. :/ (I have autoimmune thyroid, technical name is Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, but it affects my joints from time to time.)

Nice! ashley. Some of those must have taken a while to cut. I know the sore thumbs/hands feeling. Your Gambiri agates look a lot like the ones I had. They have some cool colors.

Are you prepping them for tumbling? I have some smalls that need to be sawed. I’m not looking forward to sore hands. My wife wants some bottles sawn so I have double incentive to set up the 8” saw.

Yours look great. I can’t wait to see their progress.

yes, these will go in the rotary when the fancy jasper thats in it is done. How long do you normally do your in 1st stage rotary?

Is your wife tumbling the bottles or doing something else with them?

My stage 1 is long. My wife etches the glass bottles after I cut them. She makes vases and drinking glasses with them.
