Thanks! That's really interesting, but I'll pass. Funny, I like the back more than the front. I agree. When a piece is botryoidal, I want to show it.

This is not a lot. Specify row and position from left. These are large cabs from my wife's collection made by Tony Penson. For scale the top left is 70mm. www.etsy.com/shop/JadeCarvingCanada?ref=shop-header-name&listing_id=1052855500 The carved ones do not have flat bottoms. They are $10 each except the bottom row 4 on the right which are $5. The middle row left is tiger eye and the bird is likely Nephrite jade. I don't have an id on the others. The middle cab top row has clear agate. They will be packed individually in small, padded gift boxes in a padded 7x9 envelope. Shipping will be at cost. Starting at $5. They were all in the same Riker box which my wife looked at and wouldn't object to my pricing. A group picture is not best. I can take individual photographs if asked.

I recommend a hot, soapy water soak.

Thanks. More than half of the cabs were from my wife's collection. The ones that I included that I made were good enough to sell. I have hundreds that I made that are not.

I used the summ icon. I ran a calculator on it. I then moved all the amounts to another column making them positive and got a good number. I used excel a lot at work. Creating spread sheets from text files and creating delimited files from spreadsheets. It was mainly formatting columns not using the power of the product.
The 1099k change came about as part of the covid stimulus package as away to generate revenue to pay for it. Congress votes on things that they have no real world experience with. If I buy a toaster, replace it with a better one and sell the original on ebay that isn't income. If I buy a toaster at Goodwill and sell it on ebay, there is some income involved but not the total amount. Considering the state of congress, the best a person could hope for would be another stay of execution. I went through this exercise in 2022 but didn't need to do anything with the information

The change to the $600 limit makes for a lot of work. I'll probably need to hire someone to do my taxes as a small business. I'm getting together my expenses. I've downloaded the first 9 months of paypal statements and converted them to an excel spreadsheet. For some reason the sum function doesn't like me and gives me the same number that is not inaccurate but garbage. I'll have to compute the total with a calculator. I don't know if my expenses are less than or greater than income. It's a hobby so making a profit is only a goal. Most of my purchases are paypal. There is some on the credit card for lapidary material and Amazon for supplies.

I've used Tivo recorders for a long time. They quit adding interfaces so I bought a Tivo streaming stick. It didn't work very well and content providers weren't supporting it. I got a Roku stick and it works great. Good user interface and few problems.

Gently banging the slabs together, it sounds like bone China dishes. I bid $160 on the Guadalupe when John Rowland was out of town and they wanted more. When John was there, I got it for $120. Guadalupe is nasty with fractures and vugs. This one is absolutely clean with the entire slab is usable. I laid out seven cabs in pencil but am saving it for the future.

Material is expensive but the quality is high. Size is less important than yield. The Guadalupe widest dimensions 5x4, larger Imperial 4.5x3.5, smaller 4x3.

Did you use the $10 off a $40 purchase coupon? Me yes. Did you get any sales from the coupon? I made one sale from a repeat customer and I can't tell if a coupon was used.

From my wife's collection. I just looked it up and they are still debating whether it is natural or man made.
I found this: 'The metaphysical properties of the stone include mental clarity and aura cleansing, with some claiming it is capable of calming the mind and balancing energy.'

Having bought material and made cabs for a very long time, it is hard to imagine someone doing beautiful work and using great material and selling them so cheap. I can guess what they sold for since my wife bought so many. I attend the Highland Park lapidary zoom sales and the younger guys talk about making cabs as printing money. Having sold cabs for four years, I understand how competitive the market is.
Having sorted through maybe a thousand cabs, I put aside less than 10% to list in the future and very few I would list now. Cabs are collected but most of my sales are to people who make jewelry. In my assortments, I tried to have cabs usable by wrappers and silversmiths.
