I found 1.5 pounds of assorted tumbled pieces. I saw Leopard skin and Desert Queen.

I finished the new Howardites today. Soft and heavily silicated. Yesterday was very hard material and like a long walk across a muddy field. Getting past the scratches. Today was a tiptoe through the tulips. No worry about scratches. Cutting was like molding putty with less aggressive wheels and getting a mirror polish without much effort. Cabs are the same size, 40x24.

They moved on. They have mentioned their Black Friday sales. I bought some wheels last time. I would take a look at their BF deals.

I started on these two today. Wet off the wheels at 325 soft. No fracture or vug on the imperial. A hair on the bottom.

I use a tetra 60-100 gallon aquarium pump I got at Amazon. It has two outputs and does a decent job.
I had two nebulizer pumps. I've been doing some serious decluttering and tossed the better one. When I dig through the pile of stuff, I might find the other one and try it out.

I was planning on working on one of the new Howardites. The preforms are too similar to some cabs I made; maybe slabs off the same rock. I ground the preforms on them but didn't dop. I dopped the Mescalero and Imperial to work on next.

I added 4 new pieces and took a new picture. Refer to this picture for identifying your choice. I believe top row second from right is Tiffany stone. Large enough to be recut. Has a polished back. Bottom right is a nice piece of tumbled rutilated quartz for $5.

I apologize to everyone that has had difficulty getting their cabs of the tape. Over three years ago I used this technique to ship earrings to a silversmith customer and she had no issues. Maybe she used a torch. From a previous order she couldn't find an earring so I wanted to make sure that didn't happen again. I taped them and sent her an email with a picture of the order.

It's been so long I almost forgot how to use a trim saw. Mescalero and new Howardite from Altmont and spiderweb imperial from the HP zoom sale.

That was my experience. Get the tape off the cardboard first. I'll have to try that later this week. I have to say that in person my 2 selections were way better than the photos. Group photos are not very good. They were sold as a lot and I'd still be taking pictures if I took them individually.

I had good luck peeling the tape from the cardboard. It came off in a strip, cabs still attached. From there, it was easy to separate the cabs from the tape. That was my experience. Get the tape off the cardboard first.

30 minutes of soaking dissolved the cardboard. Tape held, another 15 minutes and the tape still held. I don't know how long a soak is required, but it now involves pulling the tape off the back of the cab rather than trying to pry the cab off the tape which is tough on the fingers and the cab.

I'm doing two tests removing the cabs from the tape.
The first is a 30 minute soak in hot water and dish soap and I am waiting on that. The second is acetone which I completed. I use superglue to dop and remove it by applying acetone with a q-tip and scraping off the glue with a x-acto chisel blade. The acetone applied with a qtip will loosen the tape after the other side is peeled off the cardboard. Doing it one at a time is labor intensive.
