Tin Oxide works on Jade. You don't have that many. Try a wet towel sprinkled with SnO and hand polish them. Gotta love purple jade. Will have to try that. Thanks for the tip.

Todd, I do all of my later stages in a vibe. I use aluminum oxide polish because it works well and is cheap. Is there a reason you use much more expensive tin oxide? Does it work better with a rotary tumbler or better with the type of rocks you were tumbling, or is it just what you've always used? I think I'll post this as a general question too because I've always wondered why people use different polishes. No reason other than I heard that it was a good all around polish. I'll be interested to see what responses you get in your thread.

Fantastic batch, nice to see some Flint Ridge done so very well, gives me plenty to look forward to with the many lbs of it that I collected earlier this year. I have a lot more of that tumbling now. Interested to see how some of the bigger pieces turn out.

Wow, they basically look perfect. How long was the tumbling process from start to finish? Oh yes, jade is a real pain to tumble polish. No idea on the 60/90. Rocks were constantly moving in and out of that. BUt all my other stages were two weeks in my 12-lb rotary Lortone - 220 SiC, 600 SiC, 1200 SiC, tin oxide

Thanks for the comments all.
Mel thought the slab might be polka dot agate - without the polka dots (there are some more dots under my thumb). And the other one might be a chert or flint

Great looking stones.
Another week or two in the initial grind and you'd increase the final shine even more!

Great pics and story.
Why was fire such a big danger. Imagine there were a lot less trees back in the hey day. Just a bunch of marble laying around. Forgive my ignorance...
