Flowers and clouds during sunset and sunrise are some of my favorite topics.
Very nice pictures overall, but simply adore the last one. Excellent framing.

Thank you guys.
But the best of it all, thus far, one did not need to be rich to afford them.

kk, I normally struggle to see these images that everyone else sees. The ones you posted are plain as day to me, as if painted. Love the one of the woman releasing the object. Thats what I did with it Letting go by Kainzer Kurt, on Flickr

Fossil: I see a bird on approach to its nest. Due to where I come from; that guy is off limits for me to comment on!

First picture at first glance, would have said "cosmic eruption" but then I see the fatty guy sitting right in the middle of it. 3rd picture: first thing that comes to mind is a creature sitting on a hill and in the last picture: dancing and singing to the moon

Lots of nice images here. Can see most of the things that are described. I left mine to see what other people would see. So far no responses. To me the entire left seems to be a face. eyes and nose, right whisker

In the beginning of this hobby, I messed around with a lot of different materials. So I dented to end up cutting out pictures. One of my favorite material to date was this slab: Biggs a jasper/agate/opal mix 1. To me there is clearly a masked, caped figure standing there Pareidolia Biggs by Kainzer Kurt, on Flickr 2. Late fall, looking out from the woods into a clearing Pareidolia Biggs by Kainzer Kurt, on Flickr 3. Either looking down the embankment at someone taking a bath, or a lion walking towards water-source. Pareidolia Biggs by Kainzer Kurt, on Flickr Sometimes I come across clear pareidolia in agates: 4. Dried up flower Pareidola Montana by Kainzer Kurt, on Flickr 5. Girl releasing something Pareidolia Black Skin by Kainzer Kurt, on Flickr But to me, the king of pareidola is Pietersite. Every turn you take, every angle you change, changes things to see. I counted over 40 apparitions (back and front combined) in this piece alone. Pareidolia Pietersite by Kainzer Kurt, on Flickr

Recently an article came up on one of the forums which gave a listing of things in jewellery that are deemed hot this year. Coloured diamonds have always fascinated me way more than the white ones. But somehow, every time I mentioned coloured diamonds, I seem to fall on deaf ears. As some of you know, I started in this hobby because I was looking for a present for my wife, but could not find anything to my taste that would have been anywhere close to my meager budget. First, I found Fire Agate, then I dabbled in a variety of things. One of the things I tried was buying individual stones and trying to design something to be created by a local jeweler in gold. One of the major surprises was the availability and cost of coloured diamonds. I settled on one supplier and had first few deliveries tested. All tests returned untreated natural. Naturally, my first design was a nightmare for the jeweler, as I asked for a total overload of stones to be set. This piece from the center outwards, Fire Agate, sapphires, champagne and black Diamonds, plus three rough diamonds, and tanzanite on top with ruby (untested, and I belief heat-treated) on the bottom. Coloured Diamonds by Kainzer Kurt, on Flickr Learned from my mistakes on the first piece and scaled the number of stones down dramatically for the second attempt in designing and compiling stones. Coloured Diamonds by Kainzer Kurt, on Flickr By then, I was still buying and matching stones for a project that was/is close to my heart. I somehow never managed to afford or like a cross design-wise all my life, so I accumulated quite a few (changing my mind about shapes helped that too ). In the end I ended up with this cross classified brown (in my eyes green) and auburn VVS1 to VS Diamonds with star sapphire. Coloured Diamonds by Kainzer Kurt, on Flickr So I had too many nice stones (still have around 20), and took the opportunity to create something I would never manage to do on my own: Rings Coloured Diamonds by Kainzer Kurt, on Flickr and Coloured Diamonds by Kainzer Kurt, on Flickr It has to be mentioned here, that only the heart Fire Agate was done by me. Every other stone above has been individually bought and pieces are created by a local jeweler. All I did is designing. So now, I use the remains of the stones occasionally. Coloured Diamonds by Kainzer Kurt, on Flickr So I think, that will explain as to why I like coloured diamonds better than the overpriced white ones. The other benefit: people while appreciating the beauty, never realize what they are. So one can openly wear them on a daily basis without appearing as a show off....... Till here for now, feel free to add your own stones or jewellery containing coloured diamonds......

Valentines may be over-rated but LOVE is not kk can you eat some Yan Shing Kee Coconut Hard Candy for me please and I hope you enjoy the new year celebration!!! If wifey agrees, we will be going up to the cabin for the main part of the celebrations to get away from the noice down here. (at least thats the plan right now, will see how she feels tomorrow). Candies are on the table with customary fruits. But I'm afraid, no one in our house is too fond of them anymore.....

No chocolate sales over here, Chinese New Year is tonight and is celebrated til Monday, and a few days later on the 22nd. is “Renri” (人日), the common man's birthday and everyone grows one year older!
After that the prices finally drop on virtually everything. But no use for me really, all the chocolate is the incredibly sweet stuff. Nothing in the offering with at least 85% or higher cocoa contend. At least a visit to the flower-market will be worthwhile by then (Saw a single rose going for aprox 50$ yesterday).
