Thank you Mark for making the forum work for all of us. My favorite place to learn about rocks and rock related crafts.

I have gathered that most of the members are collectors of one sort or another as well as rock polishers... astounding variety of interests on this forum, so many um, facets of the hobby. I'd love to see some of your favorites from what you collect... would you be good enough to share some of the favorites from your personal collections and discuss them a bit? Thank you!

Used to think the lady could not hurt me . willie Nelson tells a great story about the time he came home /passed out drunk and his wife sewed him into the bedsheets, then began to beat him with a broomstick. never underestimate the mind of a PO'd woman. We don't get mad, we get even! Fun thread, I keep laughing- ( Go Denise) - happy wife, happy life JamesP.

everything transferred to Bob's rotary, started up fine and continues to be fine, slurry beginning, not too much foam. May have to add more filler (polished fish tank quartz pebbles), I'll check it again in a few days. Nice not to have to check every 12 hours as I do with the Lot O vibe. I could get hooked on rotary tumbling.

Fantastic place to get away. All your properties seem to have extra treasures! Thanks for the share and show, it seems unreal to somebody raised on the prairie and in the northern woods. Bucket list has Fl on it. Sister goes there often in the back waters, swears there are pools of Siamese fighting fish and guppies... no doubt released like the others mentioned above. I love the idea that so many of the house plants I enjoy here grow wild or are used for landscape there. A whole 'nother world. Giant land snails were a problem in Fl a while back and I heard people had begun harvesting them for escargot. Maybe not as bad a problem now, and probably regional as the rest of the invasives. What are all the critters grazing on in your neighbor's yard. Must be something they put out to attract them? At least they won't have to fertilize the lawn. Not a place to go barefoot! going to look up soap berry trees... I always learn a lot from your posts.

interesting info spiritstone, thanks for the posts and your searches for info. Information/news of any sort is handled very differently and controlled severely in many other countries. first amendment doesn't apply in lots of places. People will spread the news somehow from those places though... maybe just not through official channels. Hopefully things will become clearer as time passes. It is only a matter of time before we get a big one. fascinating subject.

gorgeous stuff. that red made be sigh. Lovely, lovely stuff! chiggers bane of my existence, allergic, though they are bad enough without that. scars all over my legs from years of them. Haven't run into them here since we moved to MI. (yet). I dread them more than any other crawling vermin. Do you use repellant or just tough it out? I know sometimes it is too late when you figure out they were present.
