Well worth the effort to bring home the material, cut it and cab it. Now you get to show it off with pride. Great cab! Thank you!

Hi Everyone! Here is my first cabochon. It now has a bale glued onto it, and I wear it often. It is special because it is my first one, and I found the rock out in the desert and cut it myself. I've made 7 of them now, but Scott is going to set me up for taking better pictures of them, and then I'll post them, too. I'm excited about this new hobby and wanted to get started in sharing with all of you! ~Jeannie~ First Cabochon lavic jasper by Jeannie Halverson, on Flickr

There is more to do with cabs than wrapping or smithing. These are very addicting to make. Takes a bit of time. But you can really be creative. Don't ever throw away misc. beads. They can be used like this. The photos made the sizes be reversed. The last one is actually the largest with the blue one being the smallest. Rhodocrosite cab. Denim lapis donut, with lapis and sodalite beads. 2 Bloody basin cabs. Thanks for looking. Amy I love your work! I especially like the rhodochrosite one! Gorgeous!
