Here are a couple of necklaces that I made with some cabs by Jaime (desertdweller). I think this one is Asurite and Malachite? Anywho, that is suppose to be what the beads are that I used with it. I also added various shades of green Swarovski and some bluish ones. I think this one is Chrysocolla? I used Turquoise, Carnelian, Onyx and Bali Silver with this one. Sorry the necklace images are small, but I was trying to save space. When I add them to my site, they will have larger pics. ;D Thanks for looking...and thanks for the cabs Jaime!

I really like the first one! how did you attach the chain to it? crimps?
I really like that you could even put that one on a simple chain without beads if someone wanted...

Thanks you all! Tweetie...it can't be worn as a pendant only, however, I could have made some chainmaille for it or attached regular chain...seems chunky is in and I had the beads ;D ...I also made a matching bracelet and earrings. Yep, I did use crimps...and I covered them with crimp covers. I hate the way crimps look on their own. ack!

The first one is terrific. But I love that you turned the second one into a leaf!

Those look great; like how you incorporated the beads in with the wire wrap.

Thanks all! Hey...way to go akansan...it is indeed a leaf and it was much more labor intense than the first one (all those prongs)! lol I don't do those spirals often, but it seemed to go with the leaf. ;D In real life, I like the 2nd one better...pictures never do pieces justice...specially when you aren't a pro. ack!

Tony...it'll be for sale on my site soon! It comes with earrings and bracelet for a whopping total of... $268.00 . That includes shipping and my silver signature tags ofcourse. ;D
I have a private show this next weekend and it will be there...I think I will be depressed after the show...as I hate to see my pieces go anymore. I just really love them sooooo much! sigh... I feel like such a weirdo. lol....

I think the first piece is outstanding. I like the symmetry and the chunky beads you paired it with. I wish the roaming wire would get roaming again as I'm so looking forward to my very own Nancy wrap.

Awwwwwww.... how tweet! I do indeed adore the first...but dang, if you all could actually see the second one in person...welllllll, I like it the best. I just finished the earrings for the second one and I am VERY reluctanct to sell it too. lol... Hey! Atleast I know what styles you like...that helps a LOT! No funky artistic stuff for you...well structured and symmetrical. cooooool.....

Hi Nancy:
I really like the first piece with the chrysocolla. I use a lot a square and rectangle cabs and was wondering if you know of a book, magazine, tutorial, etc that has the instructions that would allow me to make that particular style on square and rectangle cabs. I have never wire wrapped but have the pliers, practice wire and am willing to learn.

uh...I think the first piece is Azurite and Malachite...the second MAY be Chrysocolla. ;D Anywho, as far as a tut...nope, I just thought the sucker up. As far as the setting itself (not the top wires), there more than likely are books or tapes that can show you how. Mostly, you have to use more wires, like 5 to 6....depends on the thickness of the stone. I use quilters tape to go around the cab and I mark the tape where I want my binds to be. I then take the tape off and put it on my table. I always cut my wires long when I don't have a "plan" in mind. (around 12 inches each) I straighten them with a T-shirt and then I place them together and level them...then tape one end with scotch tape. Pull them through the t-shirt again...tape the other end. Lay the wires by the tape that I marked and mark them with a fine permanent marker...do my first binds starting from the center of the wires...untape the ends of my wires...do my bends...and then continue on as with other wraps. The trick to doing multiple bends is having flatnose pliers of different widths. I have 3 widths. Use the widest first, then a smaller one, then a smaller one (if 3 bends are used on top). Also, half hard wire will give you sharper bends...but it is hard for me to work with, so I use soft. I don't reccomend it, I just do it...and occasionally end up with scratches. ack! Sorry if this isn't indepth enough...but I'm pooped just from this tad of info. I'm going to try and put somethings on my site to help newbies...then I won't have to retype tips! lol... Anywho, I hope this helped you some. Happy Trails!
